Founder legacy & innovation

The company that invented the category

RSD’s story begins with Samuel W. Alderson, who invented the first anthropomorphic phantom, and the crash-test dummy. That founding idea, a human-realistic surrogate engineered for measurement, defined a category.

The first anthropomorphic phantom wasn’t adapted from something else. It was invented.

That same engineering mindset drives RSD today: tissue-equivalent materials, standard and custom phantoms, and made-in-USA manufacturing: the leader in anthropomorphic phantoms and imaging since 1951.

A consultative quote process

Three steps to a formal quote

The purchase path is consultative, not transactional, and pricing requests for budgeting are always welcome.

  1. 01

    Tell RSD about your application

Share your modality, anatomy, and how you intend to use the phantom. Every organization type qualifies.

  2. 02

    Consult on standard or custom

Our technical team helps you specify the right standard configuration, or scope a custom build.

  3. 03

    Receive a formal quote

You get a formal quote you can act on, including pricing for budget submissions.

Frequently asked

Answers before you request a quote

Which organizations qualify for a quote?

Hospitals and clinics, universities and research institutions, government and military, private companies, and others all qualify. If your work involves imaging, therapy, or physics, you're in the right place.

What product categories do you cover?

Medical Imaging, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Health Physics, Quality Assurance, and Multi-Modality Phantoms.

Can RSD build something custom?

Yes. We support product enhancements and fully custom-built solutions using design, engineering, molding, 3D printing, and advanced modeling. Describe your modality, anatomy, or QA requirement to get started.

Why do you ask for a business email?

A business or institutional email helps us route your request to the right technical contact. Common personal webmail domains are not accepted on this form.

Can I request pricing for a budget submission?

Yes. Pricing-only inquiries qualify. Request a quote and let us know you need pricing for budgeting, and we'll prepare a formal quote.

What does the newsletter checkbox do?

It's optional. Check it only if you'd like occasional RSD product developments and technical resources; leave it unchecked and you won't be added.
